Dreaming of the old west
"Then one day the awaited is not fulfilled and the unexpected opens the way to what you never imagined." – (Fabrizio Caramagna)
A villa of Piancabella is sold and the new owner commissions us the complete redecoration of the chalet with the task of searching for items in style ranch canadese/americano. His dream is to move away from the modern mountain furnishings that have previously characterized this house and give it a more country look that reminds him of his stays in Canada.
A task not exactly easy as this style is clearly characterized by the life of cow boy tied to the ground, with minimal furnishings that meet the basic needs; which are reflected in furniture made with freshly peeled logs, cowhide covers and studded finishes. An online search in the American market has allowed us to find the models of the desired furniture that we have re-proposed, adapting them to the plan of the house, thus satisfying the design request of this demanding customer.
The realization of the new furniture was made entirely to measure by craftsmen who made each piece starting from a precise design and creating, with quality materials, small works of art that went to furnish these large spaces. Every detail was chosen by our studio: leathers, studs, handles, up to the writings in aged/etched aluminum that have customized the large sideboard of the dining room. Our internal atelier has created the large sofa of the living room, the seats of the dining room and the two beds of the bedrooms, finishing everything with more than 10'000 decorative studs.
Careful research on the market has allowed us to find old wheels of carts that have been restored and transformed into two large chandeliers overlooking the dining table and the large sofa of the living room.
Obviously they could not miss, to emphasize this particular style of furniture, large horns on the walls... In order not to stumble upon the banality of a skull facsimile, we turned to the company Paluga art & deco working and decorating real skulls of animals. The two heads that decorate the living room are therefore entirely handmade with motif inspired by the shell of a turtle and decorated with a bright metallic finish and genuine leather laces.
Finally, we were able to fulfill another customer’s desire: the coffee table composed of two suitably structured and dried logs in the ovens to speed up their "maturation". Performed by Haute Material, the logs were then completed in our internal joinery with the insertion in the cracks of small "gold" nuggets finished with transparent resin. A piece certainly unique in its kind, that goes to characterize, along with the large sofa, this particular living room .
Upon delivery of the property, we realized that we had achieved something really out of the ordinary.
Both for the style of the furniture, certainly outside the normal range required by "historical" customers, and for their research and realization.
We like to think that we have been able to go "out of the box", that we have been able to fully immerse ourselves in the customer mentality and that our atelier and the artisans we employ have been able to achieve something new and particular, going to meet the wishes of a customer finally or extraordinarily "different".
