From the top, the view is fantastic
Imagine crossing the threshold of a dated apartment, set in a building of the '50s, where the only element that immediately catches your eye is a breathtaking view of Lake Lugano. It is here that we decided to embark on a journey of renewal, transforming a potentially evocative environment into a masterpiece of modern design and comfort.
The metamorphosis begins with the demolition of the walls that confine the kitchen to a narrow space at the back of the apartment, transforming the space into a large open-plan living room. This area becomes a stage dominated by natural light, thanks to the generous windows that offer a living picture of the lake, almost as if the external landscape merged with the internal.
The path inside the apartment is an invitation to touch, where the wide-slatted wood underfoot guides us towards the heart of the house: a spacious kitchen, equipped with a central island designed by Cesar, which promises to be the fulcrum of daily interactions and evenings with friends.
Elegance meets functionality in every corner, especially in the bathroom transformed into an oasis of relaxation. Here, the surface has been optimized to include a freestanding bathtub Devon & Devon, which acts as a counterpoint to a very modern shower covered in mosaic and a washbasin composition entirely in kerlite, to underline a perfect balance between past and future.
The master bedroom is designed as a personal sanctuary, where the large Asian-inspired bed promises rest and regeneration. Next, the carefully chosen details – from the lacquered tables of Baxter to the elegant Lampe Gras lamps – create an atmosphere of discreet luxury.
This project is not just a renovation; it is a bridge between eras, an ode to the beauty of the lake landscape, which celebrates the art of living with style and warmth. Every detail, every choice, it is a tribute to the view that inspired everything: a panorama of Lake Lugano which remains, now more than ever, the very essence of this home.
